I have been agonizing over what to say because I don’t know where to begin. What you and all the teachers – including all those who did not feature on his timetable but spent time laughing at his jokes, pulling his leg, feeding him cake and rolling their eyes at him – did for Aranyadev goes way beyond tutoring a child with learning difficulties through school.
In the six/seven years he attended Orkids, my son learnt that it was possible to overcome the difficulty reading posed; that there were ways to present knowledge that refused to be ‘structured’ into the requisite answer; but, most important of all, he learnt that it was OK to be himself – that to be different, to do things differently, was nothing to be ashamed of.
You gave him confidence, a sense of self-worth; the self-assurance to stand shoulder to shoulder with his peers and not be afraid to make his voice heard; the ability to laugh at himself; to celebrate his skill on the sports field, not use it to compensate for his lack of ability in the classroom.
I look at him confidently striding off to Hindu College – a typical teenager. Where would he be today if our path had not led to your door in Kalkaji so many years ago? Yes, he went to Orkids for tuition and you helped him to make it from class to class and pass the CBSE X and XII standard board examinations with flying colours – but there was so much more that all of you did for him that I cannot find the words for.
All I can say is thank you for being there for him at every step.

Parent of a child at Orkids Within School – Modern School Vasant Vihar
A child spends half his day at school where he learns his academic and social skills. But for children who need special help for them to learn at school can be a monumental task specially with the peer pressure and lack of awareness among the vast majority of school affiliates.
Here I strongly feel that presence of institutions like Orkids are significantly helping in nurturing and learning to the little kids who just need some extra help and understanding.
My child has become more confident and happier since he has got associated with Orkids. I have seen it in his eyes the will to learn and tackle even the extremely difficult academic and peer pressure situations.
The Orkids’ one to one teaching philosophy connects with the child that he feels wanted and safe in the ever changing environment around him. He knows that Yes these are special teachers for him but he has learnt to trust them like his parents. This all important feeling has given my child the strength to walk the extra mile with confidence.
The only thing which I can say is Parents who have avoided looking into their children's learning difficulties issues, should make use of such a wonderful organisation.
We are humbly grateful to the team at Orkids
Jasmeet Chawla – Class X Boards
Thankyou so much for the help given to my son- Udaibir Singh Chawla who gave his class 10 ICSE boards
in March 2012.
Udaibir got help from orkids in the following subjects:
English
Hindi
Commerce
With the help given to him, he did fairly well in all these 3 subjects. Specially as he was lacking behind in English and Commerce.
Udaibir could handle his studies well with the help given to him and was able to organize himself in a very systematic way.
Thank you once again to the team of Orkids who helped him excell in his studies, without your help it would have been very difficult for him.

I began as a primary school mainstream teacher in a bilingual school ........the challenge was to teach English as a second language ............over the years I realised that with some children something was amiss....only positive encouragement or ignorance wouldn't help....thats when DYSLEXIA was the new buzz word ...more of a western concept but definitely prevailing in most Indian classes.
My soul searching for a career path that brought me true satisfaction still continued and after a few stints around schools, children and education got me back to study again. A prelude to taking up the PG diploma In Management of Learning Disabilities was actually working at the Orkids Multidisciplinary clinic.
The experience only reinforced the idea that the professional course and training was inevitable. A one year course encompasssing a good amalgamation of theory, practical, projects, assignments only churned out a professional who has more clarity regarding all steps required to work with a child with LD.
Starting with the identification ,assessment, planning and remediation the course provides a total structure.
For me personally it opened a pathway to understanding the total process, honed my skills required to work in the field.
The case study and remedial lessons though tedious were the most interesting and brought invaluable insights.
The interest and diligence put in the course resulted in my securing second position (All India level) for the batch 2005-2006.
As of now I work in the school set up which has and integrated system for children with Learning Disabilties. My work with children has shown a positive result and has been greatly appreciated by parents, colleagues.
The children are happy coming to the learning center and have developed a confident attitude. There is a sense of empowerment regarding their skills and has translated in other areas of their development.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Ms Geet Oberoi, Director Orkids Institute of Higher Learning for making this course available and being a motivator all the way through.
I would like to recommend that a professional course like this should definitely be undertaken by every educator.

School years were a struggle till we accepted that our son was dyslexic and that our expectations from him would have to respect that reality. All we wanted was that he complete school with his self esteem intact. Enrolling him in open school in the Xth was the best decision we ever took as it allowed us to take the constant focus off studying and gave him respite. In spite of the fact that our son’s school had no facility for students with dyslexia, we were helped and guided by Orkids every step of the way. Orkids was not just a remedial centre; it was an equal partner in planning for our son’s success.

I feel so thankful at having discovered Orkids. It has become a companion to both me and my daughter. My daughter enjoys her time there. She has received so much acceptance and love. And it has helped her to learn better, grow better and keep pace with academics in her class. I cannot thank Orkids enough for being what it is to me and my daughter.
Orkids the Multidisciplinary Clinic has been the one stop place for kids with Learning difficulties. As a parent I had the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful organization in October of 2003, when my child was assessed with Learning disability. Since then it has been a pleasurable association with them.
Orkids in affiliation with SNDT Mumbai runs a successful PG diploma course in management of learning disabilities. I happened to be a part of the 2006 batch. The course gave me an opportunity to understand the vast area of problems faced by today’s children. It helped me examine issues from varying perspectives, look for connections for known features and, ask questions which probe for more information. the course also helped me to break down knowledge in understandable chunks by using a variety of media, anecdotes and narratives, putting students in groups, and getting them in making predictions, elaborating and reflecting on the material. The PG diploma course was a wonderful and enriching experience which helped me develop an insight into the mind of an learning disabled child along with lots of patience an compassion needed for the noble profession of a special educator.
